Chair Massage Technique

The chair massage technique was developed in the United States in 1982 and is based on the traditional art of acupressure called AMMACalming with hands») whose origins can be traced back 1300 years ago in Japan.

A massage session takes 15 minutes and is performed according to the kata method (sequence of choreographed movements). These sequences consist of a precise number of acupressure movements stimulating the meridians. The session is performed on a chair specially designed for this type of massage or on any other type of chair and starts with relaxing movements, effleurage, petrissage of the back, hands, arms and neck. It can be applied at any time, in any place and to any person regardless of height, age or sex.

The session concludes with a waking-up technique, vibrations, pressing, percussion and stretching, preparing the body to resume normal activity under optimal conditions. Receiving a massage performed according to this truly modern technique boosts energy and vitality and affords a comfortable feeling of relaxation.
